Vine: It was all going well for Sky until they called hurling football

Well there was always bound to be one mistake, wasn’t there?

Well there was always bound to be one mistake, wasn’t there?

As we’ve already remarked upon here, Sky’s GAA coverage got off to a pretty decent start this evening, with viewers generally reacting favourably to the pre-match exchanges between presenters Rachel Wyse and Brian Carney and analysts Ollie Canning and Jamesie O’Connor.

Commentator Mike Finnerty did fluff his lines slightly when making a reference to ‘championship football’ as opposed to hurling when the game got underway and although it was a minor mistake and would barely have been noticed in any other game on any other channel at any other time, every mistake was always going to be magnified tonight.

Just a little blip in an otherwise excellent start for Sky then; it’s just a pity about the game itself which, at the time of writing at least, looks as if it’s turning into a rout for the men in black and amber.

Hat-tip to Alan McCarthy for sending this one into us
