Over the course of the illustrious history of Liverpool Football Club there have been some exceptional players to have played right-back for the 5-time European Cup winners. Phil Neal, Steve Nicol, Chris Lawler, Steve Finnan and Rob ‘no goals’ Jones all spring to mind, but Glen Johnson just doesn’t seem to get the love.
Maybe it’s because he gets caught out of position so badly that at times that he looks more like a bird chasing a piece of tinfoil than a Premier League defender.
In case you missed the first big game of the season between Man City and Liverpool, then you probably didn’t see the Reds getting beaten. Badly. To make matters worse, Brendan Rodgers’ men picked up injuries to Alberto Moreno and the much maligned right-back, Glen Johnson.
These ‘Pool fans don’t seem to mind that they will be without the England international for the next few games though if their brilliant reaction is anything to go by…
