The captain strikes again.
Hot on the heels of a brace of penalties against Manchester United, Steven Gerrard was at it again from a set piece. After Luis Suarez was fouled about 20 yards out, right in the centre of the goal, Gerrard stepped up a curled a beaut into the goal.
Mannone got a hand to it, but he couldn’t keep it out and it is 1-0 to Liverpool just on half-time.
