The Kerry player had already been booked before hauling O'Connor to the ground.

A penalty was awarded, which O'Connor promptly converted. Shortly afterwards, O'Connor had his second goal of the game as Mayo grabbed the upper hand in the opening period, before Kieran Donaghy pulled a goal back to bring Kerry back into the game.
