It’s very easy to be cynical about sport sometimes especially since JOE has seen countless boring 0-0 draws in football matches, uber defensive GAA matches and a few dour 6-3 ‘put the ball up your jumper and carry’ wars of attrition on the rugby field.
We couldn’t help but be amazed though yesterday during the Dallas Cowboys’ 31-28 win against the New York Giants because this catch from the Giants rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr is simply outrageous.
Early in the second quarter, Eli Manning throws the ball to Beckham, who despite being fouled by the Cowboys cornerback, still manages to catch the the ball and stay inbounds for the touchdown.
This is hypnotic, brilliant and sport at its very best.
