Oh dear God.
Traditionally, the biggest embarrassment a footballer can suffer when taking a shot is when his effort ends up closer to the corner flag than the actual goal itself, but Sport Recife left-back Danilo didn’t even get near the corner flag in a clash against Goias in Brazil last night.
Danilo was obviously trying to hit it with the outside of his left boot but got it horribly wrong, with the result that the ball ended up going out of play on the other side of the pitch and closer to his own goal than from where he started.
Danilo must have been pretty embarrassed after the effort and even more embarrassed when it ended up going viral afterwards, but at least he knows that he’s not the only footballer to produce a shot so horribly bad, isn’t that right John?
