An incredibly emotional moment.
Derry City footballer Josh Daniels lost his mother, Ruth and sister, Jodi Lee Daniels in the Buncrana tragedy when the car that they were travelling in slipped off Buncrana jetty and into Lough Swilly.
On Tuesday night, the young midfielder came on as a substitute in the 78th minute of Derry City side’s match with Finn Harps, when they were trailing 1-0.
With his very first touch of the match, Daniels arrived at the end of a cross to finish and level the game, scoring his first goal in his 23rd league appearance for Derry in the process.
It was a wonderful moment.
