If you’re going to try a fancy run-up for a penalty, you damn sure well better put it in the back of the net.
This advice is even more important if you’re run-up is just… strange.
Former Southampton attacker Dusan Tadic spurned an early chance to put Serbia 1-0 against Romania in their UEFA Nations League clash. Rather than bury the ball, Tadic waddled up to the penalty spot like a penguin with its trousers down before smashing the ball out of the stadium.
This has to be an early shout for the worst penalty of the season. Mainly for the run-up.
