WATCH: These impressions of Brolly, Cody, Cusack and more stole the show on Up for the Match

Conor Heneghan

These are absolutely bang on the money.

Up for the Match on the night before the football and hurling finals is very much a staple part of All-Ireland weekend and though you can usually set your watch by the formula, RTÉ mixed it up a little to great effect on the eve of the All-Ireland Hurling Final.

GAA impersonator par excellence Aidan Tierney was in the audience and provided just a taste of his vast GAA repertoire in a highly amusing three-minute segment that had the audience in stitches.

When prompted by hosts Gráinne Seoige and Des Cahill, Tierney, who we’ve featured on the site in the past, did spot-on impersonations of high-profile figures such Brian Cody, Tomás Mulcahy, Joe Brolly, Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh and our personal favourite, Donal Óg Cusack.

Given the reception he got, fingers crossed RTÉ get Aidan back on for the football final in two weeks’ time.
