WATCH: Irish fans serenade unsuspecting nun with ‘Our Father’ chant on a train in France

Conor Heneghan

Well holy God.

Having partied the night before Ireland v Sweden and before, during and after the match itself, we would have thought that today might be something of a ‘down day’ for Irish supporters in France.

Well, we were mistaken.

Even in transit, followers of the Boys in Green never pass up the opportunity for a laugh, so when a group of fans from Ballinteer came across a nun while on the train on Tuesday, they decided to launch into song.

And not just any song, but the ‘Our Father’ itself.

The poor nun didn’t know how to react at first, but briefly got into the spirit of things before falling into discussion with a nearby passenger, probably to ask her what in the hell was going on.

The footage above was recorded by Colm O’Donnell, with Brian Monaghan, Colm Egan, Peter O’Curry and Shane White instigating probably the oddest religious sing-song you’ll ever hear.

Amen to that.
