WATCH: Paul Durcan wins game in Qatar with last-minute 14-yard thunderbolt that 8 men couldn’t stop

Conor Heneghan

What. A. Strike.

Had Paul ‘Papa’ Durcan been in Ireland this year then the former All-Star ‘keeper would no doubt have had a big role to play in Donegal’s march to the All-Ireland quarter-final.

Work commitments mean that Durcan is currently living in Qatar, but he’s been keeping himself ticking over as far as the football is concerned by playing some ball for Qatar GAA.

Qatar were playing in the semi-finals of the Middle East League in Doha over the weekend and found themselves two points down with just 30 seconds left on the clock when they won a free 14 yards from goal.

Eight opposition players went back on the line in an effort to prevent it from going in but they hadn’t a hope of stopping Durcan’s thunderbastard from flying into the top corner.

And, they went onto win the final too.

Pick that one out.
