WATCH: Rugby league star embarrassed as porn shows up during presentation to school students

Ironically, the presentation was about Internet security.

Rugby league star Jarryd Hayne was left embarrassed on Monday when pornographic images showed up in a presentation he was giving to 200 students at a high school on Australia’s Gold Coast.

Hayne, who currently plays rugby league for Gold Coast Titans and has previously represented the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL and Fiji in sevens rugby, was giving a talk at a cyber security event hosted by Norton anti-virus at Robina State High School on Monday.

As Hayne stood in front of an audience of about 200 students, some of whom were as young as 13 years old, pornographic images from the PornHub website suddenly appeared on screen, much to Hayne’s embarrassment and to the amusement of the audience.

As it turns out, according to 7 News, Hayne was not to blame for the appearance of the pornographic images, which Norton claim were taken from a Samsung phone and not the iPhone Hayne was using during the event.

“It’s unfortunate and all I can say (is) it definitely was not Jarryd’s device,” said Nick Savvides, a Norton representative who was co-hosting the event with Hayne.

“Connecting to open networks, people can see what you’re doing and in this case, inject unwanted materials.”

The presentation was shut down shortly after the pornographic images appeared and there were apologies from Norton to the school and from the school principal to the students present at the event.

As well as Norton absolving Hayne of any blame, a spokesperson representing him said that the images were not from his phone, suggesting that the source was from someone using the same Wi-Fi as Hayne was.

Commenting on the incident afterwards, Hayne said: “It was (awkward).

“I shut my phone straight away so that way I was logged off.

“Wow.”
