Liam Miller tribute

It captures the spirit and skill of a man gone much too soon.

The world of football continues to remember Liam Miller in the wake of his tragic death from pancreatic cancer at just 36 years of age.

The past 10 days have seen a great deal of people paying their respects, from President Michael D. Higgins to Sir Alex Ferguson pitching in with kind words and fond memories, to the Sunderland fans who sang his name at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

On Monday evening, the team at RTÉ’s Soccer Republic closed the show with a special video in honour of the former Manchester United, Celtic and Cork City midfielder.

Soundtracked by Max Richter’s ‘On The Nature Of Daylight’ – which memorably bookended 2016 science-fiction drama Arrival – this latest tribute goes some way to capturing Miller’s spirit and skill, concluding with his incredible strike against Sweden at Lansdowne Road in 2006.
