WATCH: Steven Gerrard’s surprise visit to a very ill Liverpool fan will warm your heart

Paul Moore

The look on her face is amazing. Superb from Gerrard.

Since announcing his retirement from football, Steven Gerrard has been a regular pundit on BT Sports but it’s clear that the Liverpool icon will soon be taking his first steps into the coaching world. Wherever Gerrard ends up, we’re certain that he’ll continue to command the respect and admiration from those around him because simply put, he’s a living legend.

During his time at Anfield, Gerrard made over 850 appearances in a career that spanned 19 years. In this period, he won eight major trophies with Liverpool, including the European Cup in 2005, before joining LA Galaxy in 2015.

Liverpool has always prided itself on being a club that has a strong connection with the community and their supporters, and this is epitomised by a recent visit that Gerrard paid to a young girl that’s suffering with a rare and aggressive brain tumour,

Charlie is as 11-year-old Liverpool fan that suffers from Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), the second most common type of high grade brain tumour in children. Charlie’s family are raising money so she can go to Germany for treatment and they’ve shared the video in the hope that it will help them to raise the much needed funds. You can donate here.

Take a look as the Liverpool icon arrives at Charlie’s house and gives her the surprise of her life. Wonderful.
