It just doesn’t work.

For a while during Euro 2016 you couldn’t turn on a TV without hearing the ‘Will Grigg’s on fire’ song or one of its many variations; the Shane Long version, for example, proved wildly popular with Irish fans. It’s died down a bit since Ireland, Northern Ireland and England exited the Euros, but it was given a rendition on Friday morning in the most unlikely of venues, Wimbledon, before Andy Murray’s semi-final with Tomas Berdych. We’re not trying to diss tennis fans or anything, but football-style chanting isn’t really a thing at tennis matches and as a result, the attempt of these guys to replace ‘Will Grigg’ with ‘Murray’ and ‘your defence’ with ‘Centre Court’ didn’t really work. At all. https://twitter.com/ShaneBrady1982/status/751364295955476480 It did not go down well... https://twitter.com/sarm0161/status/751362937391030272 https://twitter.com/WillWatt/status/751368293219442688 https://twitter.com/Gary_Maiden/status/751362734848106500 https://twitter.com/Glenn_Liverpool/status/751362643554869249 https://twitter.com/Kirsten93_/status/751362621106978816 Cheers to Shane Brady for sending this our way. Got a story for JOE?
