“Best of luck and thank you for the joy.”
Arguably the most memorable moment of the Olympics so far from an Irish perspective was the brilliant interview given by Cork brothers Paul and Gary O’Donovan following their impressive Olympic debut on Monday evening.
Full of enthusiasm, happiness and about as Cork as you can get, the watching audience lapped it up and the brothers from Skibbereen became heroes overnight.
They’re understandably proud of Paul and Gary at home in west Cork and Lisheen National School, where the boys went to school, have put together a heartwarming tribute that sums up just how proud everyone is of their exploits in Rio so far.
“You have put Lisheen on the map. And we love you for that.”
Tribute video – They're our favourites too! See why here: https://t.co/iFE7nAsAXz
