Icon, legend…Bolt.
The supreme Usain Bolt has added to his glittering collection of Olympic medals after the Jamaican sprinter collected his eighth Olympic title by winning the 200m sprint with a time of 19.78 seconds.
The stunning achievement means that Bolt has now won the Olympic sprint double three times, having achieved the same remarkable feat in Beijing in 2008 and London four years ago. He’s also the first man to win three consecutive gold medals in the 200m race.
Canadian Andre De Grasse followed at 20.02 for the silver medal, and France’s Christophe Lemaitre won bronze at 20.12.
The Jamaican has one final chance to win gold in Friday’s 4x100m relay final.
Here’s the race in full. Congratulations to him, he’s truly one of the greatest athletes of all time.
