WATCH: Young fella wows Henry Shefflin with cracking hurling rap at the Ploughing Championship

Alan Loughnane

This is just class…

It’s well known that rap and hurling going together like a horse and carriage… in terms of, if you play hurling, you’re going to get a rap of the hurl across the elbow or the back of the hand.

But it’s not as well known that rap music and hurling go hand in hand, and in fact this mashup at the Ploughing Championships is one of the few instances we’ve seen.

Young Timmy Costello produced this piece of gold at the Ploughing Championships today when he showed tremendous confidence to climb on stage and perform his rap in tribute to the Tipperary hurling team which won the All-Ireland Final this year.

His word play is far better than Michael Lyster’s anyway and we’re sure Joe Brolly would be suitably impressed by his effort, even if he wasn’t by Lyster’s.

Hell, Henry Shefflin and Seamus Callanan were blown away by this.

Wonderful…
