A lot of honesty on show in this new Wayne Rooney documentary.

Wayne Rooney never officially handed in a transfer request two years ago at Manchester United, according to the man himself. The United captain has been speaking in "Wayne Rooney - The Man Behind The Goals", a new documentary about the England skipper which premiers next week. Manchester United v Norwich City - Premier League Rooney says that he never actually submitted a transfer request in 2013, but did strongly suggest to the manager that he leave. “I went in to see him (Ferguson) and just said ‘if you are not going to play me then it might be better for me to move on’,” Rooney said. “Then, all of a sudden, it was all over the press that I had put a transfer request in which I never did. I don’t know what happened, why that came out that way.” England v Scotland - International Friendly England's all-time record goalscorer says that while he enjoys a healthy relationship with Ferguson, he hasn't always seen eye-to-eye with managers at international level, claiming that he was particularly disappointed with Fabio Capello. He also talks about how he hadn't recovered in time for the 2006 World Cup and should never have gone, after the now infamous Paolo Ferreira tackle. https://youtu.be/GdLY7d8sLlY?t=2m40s Clip via Datashire London
