Bayern Munich v Manchester United

United upset the form book somewhat by managing to hold the German giants to a draw at Old Trafford in the first leg and could have probably sneaked a win had chances been taken (pic below). Bayern, however, remain strong favourites to prevail in the second leg and to win the match on the night, they are 1/4 with the draw available at 11/4. If you feel United have really turned the corner and are confident enough to put your money where your mouth is, they are available at a huge 11/1 to win in Munich. To qualify for the semi-finals, Bayern Munich are priced at 1/10 and United coming in at a huge 6/1.

Manchester United v FC Bayern Muenchen - UEFA Champions League Quarter Final

For tonight’s match, the half-time/full-time market looks like this: For Bayern to lead at both half-time and full-time, the odds are 4/5. but if you think they’ll be pegged back, for Bayern to lead at half-time and draw at full-time, the odds are a whopping 28/1. If You’re of the opinion that it’s United who will start strong and lead at half-time, but feel Bayern will overhaul them to lead at full-time, the odds are 25/1.

It’s still a finely balanced tie and if United score the pressure will be on Bayern in front of their own fans at the wonderful Allianz Arena. The only score that will force it to extra-time is another 1-1 draw and this scoreline is available at 9/1, but if you’re of the thinking that the Germans will win comfortably, the 2-0 scoreline has odds of 6/1. For United to win the match on the night by a scoreline of 1-0, you would get odds of 25/1.

The first goalscorer market is enticing and heavily in the favour of a Bayern player scoring the first goal. Wayne Rooney is the best priced player for United to score first. He is available at 10/1. There are NINE Bayern players with shorter odds. The favourite is Mario Mandzukic at 5/2, followed closely by Thomas Muller at 11/4. Interestingly enough, the penalty taker for Bayern is David Alaba (pic above)and his odds of 12/1 look very tempting indeed. If you think Nemanja Vidic can repeat the heroics of last week, his odds are 40/1.

Atletico Madrid v Barcelona

The top two teams in La Liga come face-to-face in Madrid for the fifth time this season and in each of the previous four matches, they’ve ended all square. Another draw tonight has odds of 23/10. For Atletico to win the match, the price is 12/5 and Barcelona favourites at 6/5. To qualify to the next round, the Madrid club are at 11/10 and the Catalans are odds on at 4/6.

The half-time/full-time market has odds of it being even at both stages of 19/5. If you’re thinking Barcelona will bare their teeth and come out with all guns blazing, the odds of them leading at both half-time and full-time are 11/4. Atletico will not be intimidated by their more illustrious opponents and odds of them leading all the way are 24/5.

The correct score market is showing that another 1-1 draw has odds of 5/1 and a 0-0 draw is priced at 8/1. Barcelona would go through with a 2-2 draw and this available at 12/1. For Barcelona to win 1-0 the odds are at 11/2 and for Atleti to win by the same score, the odds are 15/2.

Much will depend on the fitness of Atletico’s star striker Diego Costa. He came off injured in the first leg and remains a serious doubt for the return leg. If he plays and you fancy him as first scorer, his odds are 5/1. His replacement last week was Diego (pic above) who went on to score one of the goals of the season and he is available at 9/1. Lionel Messi obviously heads the betting and his price as first scorer is 4/1 with last week’s scorer Neymar coming in at 13/2.
