Turns out watching the McGregor vs Mayweather fight won’t cost an arm and a leg

A lot cheaper than Mayweather wanted

At this price, Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather has a great chance of beating the pay-per-view buy record.

When it was first announced that Conor McGregor would be taking on Floyd Mayweather in the money fight to trump all money fights, there was a genuine concern over the cost of the pay-per-view.

The original estimate was near the $100 dollar mark, which would set Europeans back around €85.

This rumour was intensified by Eddie Hearn’s recent comments that Mayweather would indeed be looking to sell the fight for a c-note a pop.

While Showtime will be broadcasting the bout in the States, Sky Sports Boxing will be showing it to the masses this side of the Atlantic and their price for the PPV is very reasonable.

Sky customers will be able to purchase the event through Sky Sports Box Office for €24.95. There is an important thing to note regarding how you book the fight though.

The cost of the event will be €24.95 across all forms of booking up until midnight Friday 25 August. After that, the booking price will remain the same if made via remote control and online, but it will increase to €29.95 if booked via the phone.  There will also be an additional €2 booking fee if bookings are made via a telephone agent.

Invite four friends over and it’s only a fiver each.

Not bad, not bad at all.
