World Cup Bet of the Day: France to beat Ecuador, but we do like the look of Enner Valencia

While Colombia have easily been the most impressive South American side in the World Cup so far, France take the honours from the European delegation.

France have been delightful, putting the in-fighting that has marred so many of their recent campaigns to perform at their best for the first time since winning the European Championships in 2000.

Didier Deschamps’ side is a cool mixture of youth and experience, and in Mathieu Valbuena, Karim Benzema and Paul Pogba they’ve had three performers at the top of their game.

Despite the fact they are assured of a place in the last 16 we fully expect France to beat Ecuador and win well.

However, the one potential thorn in Les Bleus’ side comes in the form of Enner Valencia, the 25-year-old striker who already has three goals to his name for the South American side.

Our tip for this evening is for Valencia to score at any time in the match (most likely a consolation), as France go through. Odds are available at an attractive 5/2.
