World Cup Bet of the Day: Marouane Fellaini to score for Belgium against Russia

A revelation when he came off the bench against Algeria, the Manchester United player should be in the mood to net again today for his country.

To say Marouane Fellaini had an underwhelming first season at Old Trafford is a bit like saying Spain never really found their rhythm in Brazil; a massive understatement.

After carving out a role for himself as a fearsome battering ram close to the goal at Everton, when he followed David Moyes to Manchester United he was forced to play deeper, where he was about as useful as a bacon sandwich at a bar mitzvah.

But his national coach, Marc Wilmots, knew what he had to do to get his side back in the game against Algeria. With 25 minutes to go he took off the ineffective Dembele and put Fellaini in to wreck havoc in the Algerian defence. Within five minutes he had nodded home the equaliser.

Today, the big fella starts against Russia and we think he’s cracking value to score at any time at 4/1 as he will surely be a threat from every set piece and cross.
