We still don’t think he’s even the fastest player at Everton never mind the league…

When you think of the great Premier League speedsters down the years there are a few notable names that spring to mind.

Thierry Henry left defenders dead in his tracks, a brick wall couldn’t stop Cristiano Ronaldo in full flight while Theo Walcott can probably get on the end of any ball, shame he doesn’t know what to do with it though.

EA Sports tracking data have revealed their latest info on who the Premier League’s fastest player is and it’s not Eden Hazard, Alexis Sanchez or Raheem Sterling.

The fastest player in the top flight so far in 2014-15 is Everton defender Phil Jagielka who recorded 35.99kmh against Leicester in the season opener.

EA Sports provide the statistical data for the Premier league and record every second that players are on the pitch and their research shows that no-one has run faster than Jagielka this season.

Leicester right-back Richie DeLaet is second while Joe Ledley of Crystal Palace is third. Irish defender Joey O’Brien is tenth on the list while Swansea flier Nathan Dyer is the only winger in the top ten which surprised us.

Steven Nzonzi, Connow Wickham, Mohamed Diame, Alan Hutton and Craig Gardner complete the list.
