Ski jumping looks really difficult and we have no desire to try it after seeing this
Taihei Kato of Japan had a very rough landing in the Nordic Combined (cross country skiing and ski jump combined) earlier today after one of his skis came off as he attempted to stay on his feet once he'd completed his jump.
Fair play to him for, briefly, trying to regain his balance and hold on to the ski, but once he accepts that it's gone, the jig is up and he has to eat snow.
Whatever way you slice it, that has to hurt and Kato ended up with a broken arm as a result, so we wish him a speedy recovery.
