Crash Bandicoot is coming back to Playstation 4 next year

Hello old friend...

JOE

After nearly a decade on the sidelines, Crash Bandicoot is making a return to the videogame world.

Everyone’s favourite gaming marsupial will return to the Playstation 4 in 2017 as the original three Crash Bandicoot games get the remastering treatment.

Announced at E3 this year as part of Sony’s presentation, we were also told Crash would be popping up as a playable character in new platform game Skylanders Imaginators that will be released in October.

There have been long swirling rumours about a Crash Bandicoot return ever since voice actor Lex Lang made some moves on social media regarding the series.

Voicing Crash’s arch enemy, Dr Neo. Cortex Lang’s choice of a Throwback Thursday post in March seemed to indicate that Crash Bandicoot may be back and now we have delicious confirmation.

Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped will all be getting remastered. Working off completely new systems and coming to us in shiny HD (and maybe even 4k if we’re lucky), the new games are expected to arrive sometime in 2017.

The last proper Crash Bandicoot game was 2008’s Crash: Mind Over Mutant. Why you’re thinking about gaming in the good old days, why not take our quiz on 90s video game characters.
