Dating app from Tinder co-founder adds ‘Bromance’ feature

JOE

It can be tough for guys to make new friends in their 20s and 30s, but we didn’t expect a dating app to help us find them in between swipes.

But a new feature from Bumble, a dating app launched by one of Tinder’s co-founders, is trying to add platonic relationships to the mix.

Bumble is best known for only letting women make the first move, but their new ‘BFF’ feature lets you find potential best mates, which the app works out based on who it thinks will get on.

How it does so is not entirely clear, though TechCrunch reports quotes a company source as saying mutual interests and mutual Facebook friends are both things to which Bumble pays “very close attention”.

BFF mode only allows guys to find guys and girls to find girls, but we’re curious as to whether those jobs most likely to match you with a potential partner will work as well when it comes to finding new pals.
