A significant number of eir customers were affected by a loss of internet service on Friday evening.
Numerous eir customers reported technical difficulties on social media on Friday, with some being informed that the forecasted restore time would be next Tuesday, October 3 and others informed that services would be restored within 24 hours.
Speaking to JOE on Friday, a spokesperson for eir said: “We did have an issue which impacted broadband service for a large number of our customers.
“The outage lasted under 60 minutes. We are investigating the root cause and will continue to monitor service.”
