An in-depth look at the lady with the huge... guns

Check out this lady’s game face… all of them.

Lara Croft, the iconic wonder woman who has crashed, banged and walloped her way into the hearts of gamers worldwide, has undergone numerous transformations since she first appeared as the protagonist of the Tomb Raider gaming series back in 1996.

The dedicated people at Halloween Costumes have now created an excellent and very interesting infographic looking back at the various incarnations of how the Neneh Cherry-inspired (!?) character has transmorphanamisised over the years. Trust us, it’s a word… maybe.

Of course we could talk about all of the fancy graphics and how the game’s designers have developed the character from using 540 polygons to using 32,816 polygons to now using motion capture technology over the years but, to be honest, graphics-schmaphics.

The infographic also ties in nicely with the latest video released from the Tomb Raider makers themselves, which explains how the current incarnation’s next-gen technology works.
