Here’s how to trick your Snapchat friends into thinking you’re more exciting than you actually are

Conor Heneghan

Because sometimes looking cool requires an awful lot of effort.

For many members of the tech savvy generation, a night out isn’t a night out if you haven’t documented a large part of it on Snapchat.

Sure, it can be fierce annoying when you’re having a cup of tea at home and constantly having to scroll through the drunken exploits of your buddies on a night out, but being seen to be having a good time is important when it comes to affirming one’s social status.

If that sort of thing is important to you, but you can’t actually be arsed getting out and about, then there’s a website that’s on hand to help.

Late Night Snap Hacks provides ready-made Snapchat videos of various social situations that allows Snapchat users to take a Snap of, add their own text and illustrations and pass it off as their own.

There are currently ten different options available and you can choose from, for example, a concert, a dinner party, being stuck in busy city traffic (with a whole host of yellow taxi cabs passing by), walking along a street, partying in a nightclub and more.

While it sounds great in theory, the ready-made options currently available are very generic, although Snapchat videos are brief enough that you might be able to pass them off as legitimate if you put in enough effort to make it your own.

The likelihood of people actually believing your false Snapchats is, we would suggest, quite high, so a more productive route might be to deliberately take the piss out of your falsely-created social life, purely for shits and giggles.

That said, there’s definitely an Irish market for this sort of thing; we can imagine the post-night out in Supermac’s template being quite popular indeed.
