It turns out that Tinder has been secretly ranking you all this time

They’re talking about you at Tinder HQ.

We don’t mean to alarm any users, but Tinder have been watching and they have an opinion on you. Each and every one of you, in fact.

Don’t worry, it’s nothing to worry about and it really is to be expected, especially as it’s for the benefit of users.

According to Uproxx, Tinder have developed an algorithm which measures your “desirability” and not just attractiveness based on your profile photos. It basically encompasses all aspects of your profile, beyond imagery, and tries to pair you with people of similar “ranking”.

The system used is called an “Elo score”, which is used to rate players in competitive chess, the results of which can help match people even better on the giant social app.

This comes on the back of a recent Tinder survey, which demonstrated that more than 80% of users want more than just a one-night stand.

Tinder CEO Sean Rad has explained the work behind creating an improved Tinder experience for everyone.

“It’s not just how many people swipe right on you,” the CEO explains.

“It’s very complicated. It took us two and a half months just to build the algorithm because a lot of factors go into it.”

See, Tinder care about y’all, really.
