You shouldn’t be watching porn on your phone, but not for the reasons you’re thinking of

You know EXACTLY where all of your data is going.

Porn

It isn’t good for your eyes.

Watching bright lights in dark places, we mean.

What did you think we meant?

Get your mind out of the gutters, but also get that porn off your phone.

Turns out that mobile phones are FAR less secure than laptops or personal computers, and that adult sites in particular are prone to effecting your mobile with malware.

This is particular true if you happen to have an Android phone.

From there they pretty much take all of your personal information, and potentially sell it on to a third party who could be then use it to blackmail you.

According to a report (via The New York Times), they discovered that 34 out of every 10,000 devices were accessing porn on a daily basis – which seems VERY low to us – and that Friday is the most popular day of the week to check out naughty business on your phone, with peak viewing times between 2am and 3am.

As per the editor of the mobile phone consultancy firm who produced the report:

“Watching mobile porn on your smart phone is a much higher risk than watching it on your PC. Smartphone operating systems, especially Android, are not as secure as desktops, there are many vulnerabilities that can be easily exploited by hackers.”

“Adult, extreme and illegal content categories are far more likely to leak data, employ unencrypted technologies and otherwise expose organisations to risk.”
