Is it finally here?

Android devices have long since blazed the trail for wireless charging, but Apple still insists on making iPhone users use the traditional cable to give your device the sweet juice of life (battery).

Now, judging by these latest leaks, Apple may finally be making a fashionably late entrance to the wireless charging party.

A leaked image from Slashleaks appears to show some sort of charging coil for an iPhone or a device to be used with an iPhone.

It’s unclear whether the technology would be in a wireless-charging dock or the iPhone itself.

Slashleaks, who’ve been known for their accuracy in the past, applied a 100% trust score to the leak meaning they believe that it’s legit, although they have since downgraded the rating.

It’s been rumoured that the updates to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will also have wireless charging capabilities. The iPhone 8 is expected to be announced alongside these updates and should also have the same capability.

While wireless charging is a useful feature to have, it was proved to be slower than regular charging on Android devices.
