One of Microsoft’s most famous features is getting the chop

32 years of great service.

JOE

This is sad.

Many hours were spent on Microsoft Office Paint, making all sorts of random shapes and crooked lines and then filling them in with all different kinds of colours.

Sadly, like most good things, even Microsoft Paint has run its course and looks like it will meet its end following the latest Windows 10 update.

The Fall Creators Update will see the painting application being classified as a “deprecated feature” and it is very likely to be removed from future releases.

According to The Guardian, Paint is up for the chop alongside other Microsoft applications like: Outlook Express, Reader App and Reading List.

Paint is one of Windows’ most long-standing apps and was released with the very first version of Windows 1.0 back in 1985 and it wasn’t until Windows 98, that Paint could save your masterpiece as a JPEG.

It is unknown yet when the newest Windows update will be released so for the time being Microsoft Paint is safe on our computers.
