The Kenu Airframe is the perfect piece of kit to keep your smartphone hands free in the car

Recently, the good folk at Compu b gave us the Kenu Airframe smartphone car mount to test out and it certainly came in handy… or hands-free, as the case may be. Using the GPS on your phone and changing songs or playlists while driving has been made a whole lot easier thanks to the Kenu Airframe.

Other smartphone holders on the market can often be too bulky, while some use suction cups to stick to your window. Apart from leaving annoying suction cup stains that JOE ends up having to clean off with a hefty dose of elbow grease, a speed bump or pothole in the road might knock the holder off your window, which could cause you to take your eyes off the road, something you definitely want to avoid altogether.

The Airframe, on the other hand, simply slots into your air vent (preferably one close to the steering wheel) and it can hold a number of different smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy, the iPhone and Blackberry just to name a few. It’s adjustable and puts all the functionality of your smartphone at your fingertips. This comes in particularly handy if you have a bluetooth connection between your phone and car radio so you can listen to your music or your favourite podcast on the go, and keep an eye on your GPS without having to lose your concentration on the road.

The only problem is the fact that it makes it a little too easy to use your phone while driving and you might find yourself checking Twitter of Facebook in traffic, which is never advisable whether you’ve got some sort of hands free set up or not. However, if you use the Airframe for its intended purposes you’ll be glad you bought it, as it will make life a whole lot easier. It’s available from our mates at Compu b in their stores around Ireland and online, and at just €24.99, it’s hardly going to break the bank.
