The average time Irish people spend on Facebook every week has been revealed

Conor Heneghan

Does this sound about right to you?

Irish Facebook users spend an average of just under six hours on the social networking site every week, according to a new study by Irish digital agency Connector.

The survey revealed that the average time spent on Facebook by just under 2.6 million Irish users is five hours and 40 minutes per week, or somewhere in the region of 49 minutes per day.

That’s a long time checking out attractive former schoolmates uploading pictures, interacting with friends etc.

The survey covered the habits of Irish people online and discovered a number of interesting findings about what we get up to on the Interweb.

Ireland, for example, is one of the top three countries in the world for using Snapchat, with 590,000 Irish users in total and the same percentage of users as the US and the UK.

835,000 Irish people use Twitter and a slightly reduced figure (782,400) use Instagram, while 90% of Irish people over 25 access the Internet mostly by smartphone.

33% of us, in fact, access the Internet by smartphone only.

You can access all the information and plenty more interesting stats regarding the online habits of Irish people in the Connector infographic here… if you can afford to stay off Facebook for that long, of course.
