Sony’s big game launch last week with The Last of Us has gone pretty well by all accounts, as they’ve only gone and had a bigger opening weekend than Man of Steel

Now, we will admit that it does cost a bit more to buy a game than to go to the cinema, but that’s still a very impressive haul from The Last of Us.

According to what the lads at Digital Spy have said, Sony executives have stated that the game made ‘comfortably’ more money than the big Superman epic, despite having an audience three times smaller than it.

Reviews have been pretty great too, with everyone saying that it’s been hugely cinematic and incredibly tense.

We haven’t gotten our hands on it yet, but it seems to be in the same mold as the Uncharted series, which was hugely enjoyable too, so it looks like its worth shelling out the cash for.

This is also another example of the turning of the tide for video games and cinema, as the last few Call of Duty launches have been dwarfing their cinema counterparts. We expect the next one to follow suit, too.
