Tinder have introduced verified accounts, so now you can lust after famous people in your area

So you're telling me there's a chance

Just in case Scarlett Johansson is ever hanging around in Mullingar and looking for a date.

Dating a celebrity is nothing more than a fantasy for the vast majority of us, but thanks to a new Tinder update, famous people that are single and looking for love could be popping up in your Tinder feeds very soon.

Dating them will still be a fantasy, of course, but at least you’ll know now that if the aforementioned Scarlett was on Tinder, for example, that she was actually the real thing and not somebody using her image in an effort to get more matches.

It was revealed in a Tinder blog post today that, just like Facebook and Twitter, famous people using the app will be verified with a blue tick.

The likes of Leonardo di Caprio, Katy Perry and Hilary Duff have admitted to using the app in the past and whether confirmation of their identity is something that will appeal to them remains to be seen.

The max range on Tinder *cough* so we’re told *cough* is 160 kilometres, so Irish Tinder users will have to be content with single people living in Ireland on Tinder and are famous enough to warrant a blue tick in the first place.

Still, what’s not to say that some visiting celebrities looking to experience some of our famous Irish charm won’t put their fame to good use when looking for a little fling during their stay?

Stranger things have happened, right?
