This is how you can find out who ‘unfriended’ you on Facebook

Conor Heneghan

Will you be able to cope with the harsh reality?

Given that some people count amongst their Facebook friends dozens if not hundreds of people with whom they have little or no contact, having someone bring an end to that cyber friendship shouldn’t really be such a big deal.

That said, learning that someone has ‘defriended’ you on Facebook can wound a person’s ego, even if the last time you saw or made contact with that person was way back in 2007.

Facebook, of course, would never do something as mean as notify you when you’ve been removed as a friend, but there’s an app that can do it for you, if you’re so brave as to risk learning which of your friends isn’t as pally-pally with you as you may think.

Who Deleted Me, available as an app on iOS and Android and as a browser extension, saves your list of Facebook friends the first time you log in and subsequently compares that original list with your friends list every time you return to use it.

So, for example, if you log in for the first time today and then return to Who Deleted Me six months from now, it will be able to tell you what friends you’ve lost in the intervening period.

It will also be able to clarify whether you’ve been removed because said friends have deleted their account or if they’ve simply decided that your Facebook friendship should come to an end.

We’re sure that if you happen to be the victim of a cull, however, it was them and not you.
