Video: Excellent parody ad imagines what Facebook would have been like in the ‘90s

If the Saved by the Bell kids had Facebook, this is exactly what it would have been like

If the Saved by the Bell kids had Facebook, this is exactly what it would have been like.

We’re so used to Facebook these days that it’s hard to imagine life without it.

Hard as it might be to believe, there was a time when we had to wish friends a happy birthday in person.

When we actually had to talk to a girl we liked rather than admire pictures of her from afar.

A time when giving somebody a ‘poke’ meant something a lot more sinister than a friendly virtual nudge over the Internet.

If you, like us, were children of the ’90s, then you’ll appreciate the sentiments in this parody infomercial-style ad by comedian Brent Weinbach, who imagined what Facebook would have been like if it had existed a decade or so before Mark Zuckerberg brought it to the world.

Ah, that takes us back.
