LEGO The Hobbit is headed to consoles and PC early next year, allowing players to explore the world of the first two films in The Hobbit Trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and the newly released The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug.

Just like in the movie, players will follow Bilbo Baggins as he is recruited by the Wizard Gandalf to aid Thorin Oakenshield and his Company of Dwarves. and you will get to meet all the characters that are familiar from the movies and the books, featuring of course, Gollum and his precious Ring. As usual, there’s a humorous twist on the whole thing thanks to the lads at Lego being good craic too, so don’t expect anything too serious.

The game will be released in 2014 on Xbox One®, Xbox 360®, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®3, Wii U™, Nintendo 3DS™, PlayStation® Vita, and PC, and it looks like it will be as much as fun as the other Lego titles to play.

Recently JOE has also been playing the incredibly good fun Lego Marvel Super Heroes, which is definitely worth a look if you’re buying this Christmas. You can be almost any super hero in the Marvel universe, what’s not to like? Keep an eye out for JOE’s review of the game in the coming days.
