A few scientists from UCD recently brought an Oculus Rift virtual reality headset into the Newstalk offices for some of the biggest names in radio to test out. Here’s a look at their reactions…

Jonathan McCrea and the rest of the good folk over at Newstalk’s Futureproof have taken a particular interest in the virtual reality headset better known as the Oculus Rift.

So they invited some scientists from UCD to bring an Oculus Rift into the Newstalk studios so George Hook, Pat Kenny, Sean Moncrieff and a whole host of other Newstalk crew members could try out the experience for themselves.

You can check out George’s, Pat’s and Sean’s reactions below, but unfortunately, they’re not nearly as dramatic as this guy from Russia

Here’s what Newstalk had to say over on YouTube: “For years, popular culture has promised us convincing virtual reality experience. Is it finally here?

“On this week’s Futureproof, find out why Mark Zuckerberg paid $2bn for Oculus Rift, a headset that fools your brain into thinking you are in a completely different world. And hear why scientists in UCD are using the technology to help farmers, doctors and pilots this Saturday from 10am on Newstalk 106-108fm.”
