WATCH: Get comfortable as someone asks their Alexa the eternal question, ‘Who poop?’

Rory Cashin

We have so many questions. And no, that isn’t a typo.

First one first, why someone asked their Alexa this specific question? Of all the questions in the world, why this one? And why asked this way? Is it not ‘who poops?’ Why are we getting into the minutiae of the this question so deeply?

Following on from that, why does Alexa seem to answer with a majority of living and dead English monarchs and American presidents?

Alexa, which is Amazon’s home based version of Siri, where you can ask it questions or hook it up to your music library and make it an entertainment system and all sorts of things, goes on for over two minutes to tell the owner ‘Who poop?’, and according to the folks over at The Verge, there is literally no reason for this.

Searching literally any other medium – Google, Bing, Siri, etc. – will not come up with these answers, so why does Alexa seem to think this list is the exclusive list of people who poop?

Or maybe we’re overthinking this… maybe ‘Who poop?’ is the generation’s ultimate soul-searching question, and only kings and queens and presidents have ever known the answer.

We smell a conspiracy. We definitely smell something, anyway.
