WhatsApp has introduced a brand new feature that makes it way easier to ignore your friends

Because that’s what group chats are for, right?

WhatsApp group chats with your mates are great craic.

We’d hazard a guess that you’re probably in a few of them. Maybe one with your work colleagues too. And probably your football team. And your family. And one for your school reunion that you know will never happen, and only three people ever speak in.

And sometimes all of the notifications can get a bit much…

Which is why the “mute” feature is really handy.

But even at that, you still see the chats popping up when you’re actually in the app, and it can get a little bit frustrating.

Well that’s all about to change.

According to the tech website mybroadband, WhatsApp’s new “silent mode” will mean that you won’t even see the chats that you have muted.

So if you’re on holiday, pop this on for the chats you want to ignore, and enjoy your freedom.

The new feature is currently being tested on Android phones, but we’re expecting to see it across all devices soon enough.

And we can’t wait…
