YouTube is 10 years old today, here’s the first ever video uploaded to the site

It’s come a hell of a long way in a decade.

It’s hard to believe, but YouTube is 10 years old today.

The video-sharing website has been instrumental in the popularity of cats doing funny things, Justin Bieber, people falling over, and our personal favourite; a baby monkey riding backwards on a pig.

There are billions and billions of videos on YouTube, but we’ve gone back and found the first ever video uploaded to the site.

It was posted by co-founder Jawed Karim at the San Diego Zoo on April 23, 2005. Watch it now.

It’s amazing to think that clip was the very start of the YouTube phenomenon.
