Stephen Ireland’s Twitter account has hinted at a possible international return for the Aston Villa midfielder.
Ireland is reportedly linked with move to Fulham in January but this tweet undoubtedly overshadows any transfer talk.
Although it is not yet confirmed that the Twitter account actually belongs to Ireland, there are strong suggestions that it is genuine as it mentions his charitable foundation, Setanta Sports reports.
The Stephen Ireland Twitter account suggests he may ask Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni for a recall after a saga that has seen him out of an Irish shirt since 2007.
‘Might have to give Trap a buzz to get a game!’ the tweet reads on http://twitter.com/StephenIreland.
What’s suspicious about the account is that he only has a little over 7,000 followers and the most recent post before this one was on 30 July.
Following a reported fall-out with Villa manager Gerard Houllier it looks like Ireland may be attempting to get a run-out in the Green shirt again as a means of staying fit. But, do we really want him?
