30/12 Tonight’s Telly

TV pick: Batman Begins, T4, 10:35pm

TG4 bolsters its sterling reputation for movie picks with Christopher Nolan's excellent 2005 revamping of Batman. Christian Bale stars as the playboy Bruce Wayne in the first cinematic origin story of the caped crusader, a journey that takes viewers to the Himalayas before a triumphant return to Gotham City.

With fine performances from Irish duo Cillian Murphy and Liam Neeson, Begins is a tremendous watch and a film that managed to re-energise a faltering franchise before Nolan went on to blow the world's collective minds with The Dark Knight three years later.

Sport pick: Live Darts, Sky Sports 1, 7.00pm

The PDC World Championship is presented in glorious Sky HD tonight, with the evening session of day 12 at Alexandra Palace, featuring the concluding three third-round matches.
