Alec Baldwin reveals the reason why his daughter is called Ireland. Sort of

Alec Baldwin was asked on Twitter why his daughter is called Ireland. His answer may not go down too well over here.

The 30 Rock star is now back on Twitter after a short sabbatical from the social network due to an incident on an American Airlines flight back in December.

And this morning, in response to the reasonable question of why his daughter is called Ireland Baldwin replied:

We have to say, it a funny line and while it might be a bit painful for us to hear, it is still a good joke.

Of course, Ireland (the person, not the country) was born in 1995 so Baldwin couldn’t have known what was going to happen here back then, could he?
