Ancelotti admits Chelsea job hangs in the balance

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he fears his job could be in jeopardy after three defeats in four Premier League matches.

Reports that the Italian had walked out of Stamford Bridge circulated yesterday but were dismissed by the London club later in the day.

However, Ancelotti himself has come out and said he is “in trouble” given the recent poor form and will not quit over the sacking of assistant manager Ray Wilkins.

"I think that when the team don't reach the right results, obviously the coach is under pressure. Obviously, I am under pressure because I'd like Chelsea to win every game," he said.

"Obviously, I understand very well because I had a lot of occasions like this in my career - the coach is in trouble when the team doesn't produce results, but this is my life. I like my life. I'm not disappointed about this.”

Chubby Carlo has 18 months remaining on his contract but that means little to club owner Roman Abramovich who could easily pay him off.

All eyes will be on Stamford Bridge tonight as Chelsea face MSK Zilina in the Champions League.
