Arsenal boss Wenger has a pop at Nani

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has sarcastically ridiculed Nani after the Manchester United winger dismissed Arsenal’s title aspirations.

The Portuguese winger and diving enthusiast had earlier wrote off the chances of both Arsenal and Manchester City, by claiming that he can see the Premier League being won only by United or Chelsea, despite the fact that the Blues currently lie in fourth in the table after a run of five Premier League games without a victory.

"I no longer see anybody winning the Premier League this season outside of Manchester United or Chelsea. Hopefully, it will be United," he said.

Wenger, however, believes that Arsenal are still in with a great shout of their first league success and responded to Nani’s comments with more than a degree of sarcasm, suggesting that he knows better given his wealth of experience in the game.

"Everybody has a different opinion in this league and nobody is perfect," said Wenger.

"We live in a society where everybody knows everything and it is a shame to say, 'I don't know'.

"I personally don't know who will win the league and I have managed 1,600 games. If Nani knows he must be 1,600 times more intelligent than I am," he added.
